The main road to all parts of Orkney passes within the vicinity of the house allowing easy access to all parts of the islands, from Burwick in South Ronaldsay to the Broch of Birsay in the north and the port of Stromness in the west of the west mainland, where the car ferry Hamnavoe docks from Scrabster on the Scottish Mainland, Caithness.  The other main port at Hatston, Kirkwall is only a 10 minute drive from the property- this dock serves Shetland and Aberdeen by the Hjatland and Hrossey ships of the Nortlink Line. In the harbour of Kirkwall departs the inter island fleet of the Orkney line to all the islands to the north and east of Orkney. The airport at Grimbister is only a 10 minute drive away, so you will be centrally located for all aspects of the island's attractions.
